ITIL® V3 Credit Profiler

The ITIL® V3 Qualification Scheme (pdf) uses a credit system to reach the highest level and earn the title ITIL Expert. Credits can be accumulated by successfully completing a balanced selection of ITIL® V3 exams, or through a combination of version 2 and version 3 exams. A minimum of 22 credits is needed to achieve Expert certification in IT Service Management.

Learn about the details in the official ITIL V3 Credit Policy document (pdf).

The ITIL® Official Site has introduced a new Credit Profiler which will help you navigate the new Qualification Scheme. By entering in the exams you have already completed, you can find out what is needed to reach the ITIL Expert level.

In order to achieve a good understanding of ITIL principles and to earn sufficient credits, it is strongly advised that ITIL V3 certifications you pursue are complementary to certifications that you have already completed.

Following the full release of the ITIL Intermediate qualifications, and the completion of the core modules in the ITIL V3 Qualification Scheme, the credit policy was reviewed in April 2009 to ensure that it enables candidates to make the most of thier current certifications and knowledge base, and to offer clearer, more concise guidance on the potential certification options and routes available to them through the scheme. Please refer to this webpage for full details on the new credit administration policy.

If you have questions or would like to receive information on your certification history at EXIN, you may send your inquiry to our International Service Desk.
