ISO/IEC 20000 ISO/IEC 20000 was introduced in late 2005 as the new independent Standard for Quality in IT Service Management. This quality standard specifies the practical procedures an organization should follow to improve the quality of its IT Service Management processes. A growing number of organizations are looking to become ISO/IEC 20000 certified. Certification demonstrates that their IT service meets international quality standards and that they manage risks inherent in IT Service Management in a safe and responsible manner. Launch new ISO/IEC 20000 qualification program EXIN and TÜV SÜD Akademie are jointly developing a new, multi-level IT qualification program for ISO/IEC 20000: IT Service Management according to ISO/IEC 20000. This program (pdf) comprises of a Foundation Level, a Professional Level, an IT Management Track and an IT Auditing Track. The new program is perfectly suited for IT professionals already experienced in other successful standards and best practices, such as ITIL®, MOF, COBIT, ISO 9000, CMMI and ASL.
The first exam: ISO/IEC 20000 Foundation (available January 1 2008) familiarizes the participants with the basic objectives and contents of the ISO/IEC 20000 standard, the requirements, guidance and recommendations as described In this standard. Other exams are set to follow, while translations will be available in languages including Spanish and Japanese.

Discontinue dates exams Service Quality Management The following exams will be replaced by new ISO/IEC 20000 exams:
Service Quality Management Foundation (SQMF), the first exam that EXIN introduced for ISO/IEC 20000, was withdrawn with effect from March 1, 2008. The same will apply to Service Quality Management Advanced (SQMA) as from July 1, 2008. SQMF gains you exemption at Foundation level, while SQMA provides you with exemption at Professional level.
