Security Certified Program
The Security Certified Program (SCP®) provides a comprehensive network security program that tests both theory and hands-on skills of candidates in the field of information security. SCP offers multi-level, vendor neutral, security training programs, which enables IT staff at all levels to acquire necessary job skills and get certified.

Qualification program
EXIN and SCP® recently formed a partnership granting EXIN exclusive worldwide exam development and delivery rights to the Security Certified Program. Key features of the qualification program are:

• Certification ensures in-depth knowledge and skills especially regarding more technical issues
• An excellent next step for IT professionals with backgrounds like MCSE, CNE, Security+, CCNA
• Ready-to-use course materials available for SCP
• Advanced independent vendor-neutral certification
• Complementary to EXIN’s Information Security qualification program based on ISO/IEC 27000

Independent exams
SCP offers three certifications to validate IT professionals’ security skill sets. These certifications are listed below in the order of advancement:

1. Security Certified Network Specialist (SCNS) – The exam titled ‘Tactical Perimeter Defense’ tests the skills required by IT professionals who are entering the world of security. No prerequisites required.
2. Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP) – The exam ‘Strategic Infrastructure Security’ tests candidates’ knowledge and skills in prevention techniques as well as risk analysis and security policy creation in a blended technology environment. SCNS certification is a prerequisite for this level.
3. Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA) – This level consists of two exams designed to validate candidates’ knowledge of Law and Legislation issues, Forensics, Security Techniques, PKI Policy and Architecture, and Cryptography. The exams are titled ‘Enterprise Security Implementation’ and ‘The Solutions Exam’. SCNP certification is a prerequisite for this level.

Target group
The qualification program is aimed at roles at all levels in the organization. SCP® has researched and defined the necessary information security skills that would benefit the general employee base, as well as the IT administrator, IT manager and IT executive.

SCNS is ideal for IT professionals who are entering the world of security. Those people who have to work with, and implement, real world security technology.

SCNP is useful for network administrators who need the additional hands on skills to protect their network from the inside out: the Technical Information Security Specialist.

SCNA is directed at IT Managers and advanced IT professionals and those who have to develop the strategies and policies required to build a trusted network: the Information Security Architect

Training and Exam availability
The English exams SCNS ‘Tactical Perimeter Defense’, SCNP ‘Strategic Infrastructure Security’, and SCNA ‘Enterprise Security Implementation’ and ‘The Solutions Exam’ are available worldwide through Prometric and Pearson VUE (please select Security Certified Program). In the course of 2009, the exams will be made available to EXIN’s Accredited Examination Centers (AECs).
